Every so often, someone asks us the question: “Can you do it cheaper?”
It’s an understandable ask. But playing price wars isn’t just short-sighted, it’s a race to the bottom. And we’re not interested in running that race. Here’s why we’ll never compete on price, and what we focus on instead.
Price Wars Are About Our Competitors, Not You
Competitive-based pricing is exactly what it sounds like: it’s based on everyone else. It looks at the firm down the road and says, “They’re charging this much, so we’ll charge a little less.”
But pricing ourselves against competitors we don’t know—and businesses we’re not inside of—has no substance.
At Legalite, we use a value-based pricing model. That means our fees are set on the outcomes, expertise and service we deliver to you, and we don’t peg our fees to someone else’s spreadsheet.
So why should competitors dictate the value of our work together?
Price Cutting Isn’t Sustainable
We’ve built Legalite on the idea that great service is about consistency, quality and expertise. Price cutting doesn’t fit into that model.
Why? Because when firms lower their prices just to “win” work, it has to be ‘made up’ somewhere else. Corners get cut. Standards slip. Teams are asked to do more with less. That’s not who we are, and it’s not the experience we want for our clients.
We’re with you for the long haul (literally. Some of our clients have worked with us since we opened our doors in 2017!). That means focusing on creating real value, not fleeting discounts. We’d rather invest in the things that make our clients’ lives better: expertise, care, responsiveness, and results that actually stick.
Someone Always Loses Out
When prices are slashed, someone pays the cost.
- Clients lose out when a cut-price model means rushed service, half-baked solutions or a revolving door of staff.
- Our team loses out because they’re pressured to do more with less, which leads to burnout (not our vibe).
- Our business loses out when there’s no room to reinvest in new ideas, smarter systems and better ways of serving you.
Price cutting might sound like a client-friendly move, but in reality, it chips away at the very things clients value most. And we’re not willing to play a game where someone always loses.
What We Do Instead
So you might be asking, then what do you do? At Legalite, we compete where it really matters.
1. Expertise That’s Yours to Rely On
Our team lives and breathes the industries we serve. Clients trust us because we get it right, not because we’re the cheapest option on the table.
2. Personal Service
Every client relationship is unique. We listen, we tailor, and we take the time to understand what matters to you. That kind of service can’t be squeezed into a cut-price model.
3. Consistency You Can Count On
We show up the same way, every time—with high standards, clear communication and reliable delivery. Because you deserve more than a once-off good experience.
4. Value That Lasts
When you work with us, you’re not buying a transaction. You’re investing in a relationship. Outcomes that protect, support and grow your business for the long run.
Competing on Value, Not Price
Legalite was never built to be the cheapest law firm. We were built to be the one you can count on. The one that listens. The one that delivers. The one that understands that true value comes from expertise, service and results, not discounts.
Price wars might matter to our competitors. They’ll never matter to us. Because at the end of the day, the most valuable thing we can give you isn’t a cheaper invoice. It’s confidence.
The Bottom Line
We’ll never play the race-to-the-bottom game. It’s not who we are.
Instead, we’re doubling down on what makes Legalite different: a team that cares, service that delivers, and outcomes that last.
So, the next time someone asks if we can do it cheaper, the answer is simple: no. But we can do it better.
